FRAG.NOIR

Film • Photography • 2025

FRAG.NOIR fuses Shibari — a Japanese-influenced rope practice — with a monochrome 1990s avant-garde sensibility. Film grain and fractured sequences form a visual grammar of power, proximity, and surrender. The body becomes sculpture; the rope, syntax.

Unfolding as video and photographic collage, the work echoes the residue of a lost Vogue backstage tape—observational, intimate, quietly intrusive. Between images, temporary states surface: cooling skin, measured breath, precise repositioning.

The artists move across art, performance, and erotic subcultures, positioned not as objects but as authors of their own desire. An anarchic dialogue of skin, rope, gaze, and interruption.
