SHIBARI:
TEACHING & SESSIONS
I share what I’ve learned through 12 years
of practice — teaching Shibari
and offering collaborative rope sessions

MY APPROACH
HOW I TEACH
I don’t teach Shibari as a rigid system to be mastered. I approach rope as a relational, embodied practice — one that unfolds through attention, listening, and shared presence.
What I have to offer has emerged out of many years of lived experience: tying and being tied, learning how bodies respond, how trust is built, how meaning arises in the space between people. While my background as an artist gives me a strong aesthetic sensibility, my teaching is shaped far less by ideals of visual perfection than by curiosity, care, and what becomes possible when we slow down.
Rather than focusing on flawless patterns or technical display, I center consent, communication, and the ability to stay present — with oneself and with another. For me, rope has become a way to explore sensation, vulnerability, and connection, not something to perform or achieve.
This perspective is deeply informed by my own journey as a trans person reclaiming bodily autonomy, from having inhabited both sides of the rope, and from knowing how essential it is to create spaces where all bodies feel welcome and celebrated, giving them space to be. My work is about holding that space — quietly, attentively, and with respect for what each body brings.
