JAPANESE-INSPIRED ROPE BONDAGE
I first came into contact with Shibari in 2013 while modeling for private lessons and started to develop my first tying skills absorbing knowledge while being tied and later on via self-tying. Eventually, I also started to actively take lessons and to tie other people. I now enjoy myself on all sides of the rope. Being a rope switch gives me a broad perspective on what it means to tie and to be tied.During my years of studying Shibari and Kinbaku and the years of being an organizer of Karada House in Berlin, I had the opportunity to learn directly from internationally well-established rope teachers (i.a. Akechi Kanna & Kagura, Murasaki, Addie & Barkas).
While I do not follow a certain technical style of tying, I am constantly searching for a deeper understanding of how to move somebody physically and emotionally through the use of ropes. My style of tying is a reflection of who I am in relation to the person I tie.For me, a tying session is like a ritualistic dance performance between two people who allow themselves to be vulnerable with each other. A dance with an inherent magic, a choreography with storytelling. It can be erotic and sexual but it doesn’t have to be.The act of being able to tie with someone (actively or passively) fills my heart with humility and joy.
Teaching Rope
I offer 1 on 1 private teaching.
My approach to teaching shibari is strongly influenced by my belief that in order to understand how to tie, one should never forget the person that one ties with. Even when learning patterns & harnesses, it is essential to understand that every tie is an adaption as everybody is different, with different needs, wishes, sizes, mobility, abilities, and disabilities. So I aim to enable you to get confident in using these underlying principles.
As everyone starts with a different background and desire of where to go with this practice my teaching also adapts to your needs.
- My private rope lessons are for pairs. If I demonstrate ties, I usually ask you to show this with your tying partner.
- They are a minimum of 90 minutes long. My recommendation is to book 2 hours.
- When we arrange teaching I will ask you for a non-refundable deposit upfront
Tying Sessions
I offer private tying experiences for people who are seeking the experience of being tied in a safe(r) environment.
I offer these sessions for people who are new to rope bondage and want to explore the feeling of being tied. And also for people who are interested in playful, sensual, or intense sessions.
My offer is for people of all bodies and genders. I want to highlight here that you do not have to meet any standards or norms to enjoy being tied. I bring all my experience and empathy into these sessions. My personality is gentle and soft (with some fun sadism in the mix if you like) and my wish is for you to feel welcome to be exactly the person that you are without any pressures of society.
I have many years of experience in BDSM power dynamics and shibari. The sessions can be erotic, grounding, playful, or challenging. Please tell me about your wishes so we can negotiate together what kind of rope session we want to create for you.
- I recommend tying sessions to be between 2 – 2,5 hours long.
- When we arrange a meeting I will ask for a non-refundable deposit upfront
- An additional note: I understand that for a lot of people, shibari sessions can feel very cathartic and grounding. But shibari is not “healing”. I am not a healer or a therapist and shibari can not be a replacement for any kind of therapy. I strongly warn against people who claim otherwise.
