QUEER BODIES BOUND

Queer Bodies Bound is an ongoing collaboration between Renée de Sans and Mamana, exploring the representation of queer and diverse bodies through Shibari. Each session goes beyond photography: it becomes a space for participants to reclaim narratives over their own bodies, shaping how they wish to be seen and experienced. Gender expression, embodiment, and euphoria are central, forming an intimate and affirming dialogue between rope, gaze, and self-expression.

The project merges art direction, movement, and photographic practice, producing images that are both aesthetically precise and emotionally resonant. Each encounter is a therapeutic and creative exploration, celebrating diversity while interrogating traditional frameworks of the body, visibility, and desire.
