PRIMORDEAL THREADS

In the summer of 2024, four creatives converged in Berlin to initiate a collaborative short film. Emerging from different artistic practices, they were drawn together by a shared impulse: to foreground bodily expression and emotional intensity against the city’s characteristically muted, grey environment.

Filmed at Karada House, the work unfolds as an atmospheric study rather than a linear narrative. Gestures, movement, and light operate as primary materials, allowing moments of connection, tension, and release to surface organically. The film traces a search for warmth and presence—chasing illumination as both physical phenomenon and emotional state.

Primordeal Threads speaks to the formation of a common visual language. Through proximity and attunement, individual practices intertwine, with Mara Gelato and Renée de Sans performing, producing a quiet but charged cinematic space where expression precedes explanation.
