Butoh Spirit
Butoh is a dance theatre with Japanese origin without fixed form. With its basic intention it is a self reflecting art form. Starting from its early stages in Japan of the 1950s years this art form engages with bodies and body expressions as a variable of gender and sexuality. Butoh Spirit explores together with the dancers Valentin Tszin and Coco Katsura the dance of masculinity and feminity, which are seen as two parts of a unity and which do not compete in a hegemonical fight about a construction of power and binary.
